Your back-office (also called back-end or administration panel) will be the "heart" of your platform. Every configuration in the back-office will have an impact on the front-web (public platform destined to end users), the synchronization is automatic.
On the left, you'll have access to the different sections/rubrics of the back-office, corresponding to the successive steps of your configuration.
Brief description of each section :
- Dashboard : summary of commercial statistics, monthly consumption gauge (storage, bandwidth) and access to Kinow support;
- Media management : configuration of video sources (VOD & Live streaming) and “virtual library” where your videos, subtitles and bonus files are stored;
- CMS content : creation of categories, products, metadata and custom pages;
- Monetization : management of subscriptions, coupons and methodes of payment;
- Users : follow-up of orders and video access, management of user accounts and groups;
- Statistics : sales, views, media consumption (over selected periods);
- Video player : customization of player behavior and watermark configuration;
- Display settings : configuration of home rails, top menu, carousel images...;
- Platform settings : copyright, registration fields, video access restrictions, languages...;
Some preparatory thoughts before your configuration on the platform:
- What's your business model : SVOD, TVOD, free videos only for registered members?
- Which streaming profile do you want to apply to your videos?
- What will be the architecture of your platform Quelle sera l’architecture de votre plateforme (categories tree)?
Dashboard
The up right and corner buton (arrow out of square) is a direct link to the front web, preview directly the configuration applied in your back-office.
The dashboard allows you to view your business (or performance) indicators over a given period. These statistics are especially useful for permanent and monetizable platforms.
Useful information for internal / organizing teams:
The "Customer support" buton: allows to send a ticket to the Kinow support team (for technical or practical matters when setting up your platform), and access the user guide and FAQ.et d'accéder au guide utilisateur avec les FAQ.
Summary of messages sent by your users through the contact form: open, pending, closed.
Number of products and subscriptions available on your platform.
Storage and distribution gauge (bandwidth): indicators relating to your offer. As a reminder, bandwidth = “video packets” which consume data on the internet each time a film is viewed. Bandwidth increases with the number of hours of viewing and the quality of the videos.
